Martin Bashir Nightline ExitMartin Bashir Nightline Exit – ABC’s Nightline is now at a loss, with Martin Bashir leaving the show and the station to link up on NBC.
Bashir, born in British capital, rose to fame after making a few documentaries, including one on Michael Jackson titled ‘Living With Michael Jackson’ in 2003, that aired on ABC, and an interview with Princess Diana in 1995, a world exclusive interview at that.
He joined the show 20/20 on the ABC in 2004, and has shown the quality and professionalism we expected from journalist on TV.
MSNBC will have Bashir starting a daily afternoon program in Sept, as well as using his journalism abilities regularly on NBC’s Dateline program.
“I am absolutely delighted to be joining MSNBC and NBC,” Bashir said in a statement. “This is a rare and special opportunity — to host a daily news and current affairs show and also work on long-form journalism. … This is an enormous privilege and I cannot wait to get started.”
MSNBC President Phil Griffin gave his new recruit a glowing review, calling his work previously “smart, original and thoughtful,” as well as saying “could not be happier to bring someone of his caliber to the network.”
