old port festival

old port festival

I am looking forward to the Old Port Festival this weekend in Portland. On that note, I would guess that Boone's, the Old Port Tavern and DiMillo's are the oldest continuing restaurants in the Old Port area.
* I still miss F. Parker Reidy's and Horsefeathers. Reidy's drew the hockey players, the Yuppies and the downtown professionals, while Horsefeathers had great music and good pub food. I wonder, is Horsefeathers still open in North Conway, N.H.?
* I promoted a concert once during the Old Port Festival, in a large space on Middle Street. Sad but true: I left for a few minutes to cheer up one of the singers, and when I returned the bouncer, who was 6-feet-10, didn't recognize me and wouldn't let me back in. Advice: always introduce yourself to the part-time help when running an alcohol-fueled event.
